Morning News Round-Up (from 09.30.08) — the Bail Out Edition…

Technical difficulties yesterday. Plus, didn’t everyone spend at least part of the day checking on their 401Ks?

Speaking of that…

Eshoo and Pelosi voted for the bailout/rescue on Monday…stay tuned for who will vote for what in the coming days.

Our friends at the Examiner, the San Mateo Dialy News, and the Daily Post are in quite a tiff. Here is a breakdown of media battling media — Watch Dog must admit that this sounds an awful lot like a campaign: they stole my lawn signs! they stole my lawn signs!

The Sups passed their budget — although the real decisions were made in June.

The Sups also approved a new contract with AMR for ambulance service. Let’s just say that this wasn’t a popular decision among some folks. Is there a large government contract in San Mateo County that does NOT end up in a controversial decision?

County Sups let the trash guys know that their recycling eyes may be bigger than the Supervisors’ financial stomachs. Money quote: “You’ve got to get it smaller…” Thank you Supervisor Gordon.

CalTrain riders with bikes must wait their turn. This seems counter-mass transit, but you make up your own minds.

The Daily Journal reverses itself (sort of) on W and V
. You have to read this to believe it…really…I hate to get political on everyone, but the first couple of paragraphs sounds like an answer Sarah Palin would give.
