A foul-mouthed Juvenile Court Judge? How fun!
There is an ongoing case against a former San Mateo County-based Child Psychiatrist, Dr. William Ayres, for (alleged) child molestation. Watch Dog has written about this case before…and there is a blog set up to keep tabs on the case called: William Ayres Watch.
Ayres was referred patients by the juvenile justice system in the County. Which brings up several questions:
- Who knew what?
- When did they know about the accusations against Ayres?
- Did folks “in the know”/Judges keep sending patients his way anyway?
These questions were brought up in an interview with a local Superior Court Judge, Marta Diaz, in a recent article for the legal paper, the Daily Journal. Being a Juvenile Court judge, you’d think Diaz would use a little more discretion in her word choice during the interview. (The full interview can be read here — at least until Watch Dog gets a cease and desist letter from the publication…)
Here are some (culturally insenstive and foul-mouthed) excerpts:
…San Mateo County Superior Court Judge Marta S. Diaz still seethes about the teenager accused of murder who escaped from the juvenile lockup right outside her chambers window.
“I wish I’d seen him,” said Diaz, gazing at the spot where a year ago the youth boosted himself through netting over a recreation yard and fled to the border. “I’d have caught the little bastard myself before he got to Mexico.”—
Local government watchdog Michael G. Stogner, of Belmont, has insisted that county officials, including Diaz, continued sending patients to Ayre, despite knowing about the accusations. New York-based journalist and victims’ advocate, Victoria Balfour, has accused Diaz of protecting Ayres.
Diaz shrugged off the attacks. “Stogner and Balfour have this little jihad against me,” she said. “I don’t care. I know it’s all bullshit. All will come out.”
Watch Dog would love to see Diaz’s reaction if any of the folks that came before her used the same language…
(Hat Tip to all the Watch Dogs out there…thank you)
