Stop. The. Presses…
Well, we thought the election was over, but not so much…
The Registrar of Voters just posted an update to the election results (remember, provisional ballots and some late absentees are still being counted)… and the results are not complete yet.
Specifically, in these two races seem interesting/close…
Santa Clara County District 1:
Teresa Alvarado is catching up to Forrest Williams. She is only 33 votes behind Mr. Williams… which means she is going in the right direction with many (?) more votes to be counted. Could she be in the run-off and not Mr. Williams? We shall see… 33 votes is not a lot.
San Jose City Council District 5:
Magdalena Carrasco is catching up to Xavier Campos. She is only 14 votes behind Mr. Campos and has been closing since election night… This won’t change the run-off in November, but it will freak some people out who have their chips on Mr. Campos’ side of the table.
So, we’ll see how this plays out over the next couple of days. The big impact would be if Alvarado overtakes Williams, then the run-off against Mike Wasserman has a new dynamic…
Until the next update from the Registrar…
