Daily Fetch 4.2.12: Stark, black-and-gray, eight-story fortress…

Welcome back to the grind…

And it is certainly a grind for the owners of Matrix (we mean M8trix) – “That stark, black-and-gray, eight-story fortress newly risen next to Highway 101…”) That’s where the Merc Editorial started this weekend… and only went downhill for M8trix from there. The Ed Board says the City is right in their careful approach to providing opening permits… the M8trix folks, in return, have sued the City for foot-dragging. This isn’t going away quickly and the place isn’t going to open quickly (and the bad radio ads probably aren’t going away quickly either)…

And now…

Internal Affairs gives us the skinny about recently retired San Jose Chief Librarian Jane Light’s $250 political contribution to Pierluigi Oliverio’s opponent… Sort of an F-you on the way out the door. (A bigger F-you would have been a $500 contribution to struggling Steve Kline, or evern a bigger F-you would have a been a contribution to Bill Chew… Either way, we like Light’s moxy…)

Finally…

The New York Times takes notice of the San Jose-hating Giants versus the wanna-be-in-San Jose-A’s battle brewing in the Bay Area… complete with the best worst view of the Coliseum.
